Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 17 June 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made with Dayton Events. By submitting a booking enquiry and paying a retainer, the client confirms they have read, understood and agreed to the terms set out below.
1. Booking Process
All bookings begin with an enquiry submitted through our website or directly to our team. Dayton Events will review your request and confirm availability before any booking is formalised. A booking is not considered confirmed until a retainer has been received and a written acknowledgement issued by Dayton Events.
2. Payment
A retainer of 50% of the total agreed amount is required to secure your event date. The remaining balance of 50% is due no later than 7 days before the event. Failure to settle the balance by this date may result in cancellation of the booking.
All payments are to be made in Jamaican dollars (JMD) by bank transfer only. Banking details will be provided upon booking confirmation. The client must reference their invoice number on all payments to ensure correct allocation.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations made 14 or more days before the event date will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the retainer.
Cancellations made between 7 and 13 days before the event date will receive a 50% refund of all amounts paid. The remainder will be retained by Dayton Events to cover lost bookings and preparation costs.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event date will forfeit all amounts paid. No refund will be issued.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted. Dayton Events understands that exceptional circumstances arise and will always seek to handle such situations with fairness and compassion. Any exceptions to the above are at the sole discretion of Dayton Events.
4. Venue Use & Conduct
The venue is provided for the agreed event only. Any use of the space for a different purpose requires prior written consent from Dayton Events.
The client is responsible for the conduct and behaviour of all guests, vendors and contractors they bring onto the premises for the full duration of their access. The venue must be used in a respectful and lawful manner at all times. Any unlawful activity on the premises will result in immediate termination of the booking without refund.
The maximum occupancy of the venue must not be exceeded at any time. Noise levels must remain within reasonable limits and in compliance with local regulations. Dayton Events reserves the right to request a reduction in volume if necessary.
5. Access & Timing
Clients are provided a total of 7 hours of venue access: 2 hours for setup, 4 hours for the event, and 1 hour for breakdown and removal of all items. How the client chooses to use the allocated time is at their discretion, provided all activity falls within the 7 hour window.
All client property, decorations, equipment and hired items must be fully removed within the breakdown period. Access outside the agreed window is not permitted without prior written approval and may incur additional charges. Dayton Events will not be responsible for any items left behind after the access period ends.
6. Decorations, Catering & Additional Services
The client is responsible for supplying, installing and removing all decorations, furniture, tables, chairs and equipment they bring onto the premises. Decoration, catering and additional event services are available and can be arranged upon request. Details and pricing for such services will be outlined separately and agreed in writing prior to the event.
All installations must be free-standing or use non-damaging fixings only. Nothing may be nailed, screwed, stapled or permanently affixed to any wall, ceiling, floor or surface of the venue.
The use of open flames, candles, smoke machines, confetti cannons, glitter or any materials that may damage or stain the venue must be approved by Dayton Events in writing before the event. Any damage caused to the venue by client decorations or equipment will be charged to the client at the cost of repair or replacement.
7. Damages
A walkthrough of the venue will be conducted before client access begins to document the existing condition of the space. The client is encouraged to be present. Any damage, breakage, staining or loss to the venue or its fixtures caused during the access period will be the client’s liability. A damage assessment will be carried out after the event and any costs will be invoiced to the client, payable within 7 days.
8. On the Day
Dayton Events staff will be available during the event to address any venue-related concerns. In the event of an emergency, the client is responsible for the safety and orderly evacuation of their guests. Emergency procedures will be shared upon booking confirmation.
Dayton Events reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any person from the premises whose behaviour poses a risk to the venue, other persons or the smooth running of the event.
9. Image & Media Use
Dayton Events reserves the right to photograph the venue setup for use in our portfolio, social media and promotional materials. Images will not include identifiable images of minors without express written consent from a parent or guardian. Clients who wish to opt out must notify us in writing at least 7 days before the event.
10. Unforeseen Circumstances
In circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, power outages or government restrictions, Dayton Events will notify the client as promptly as possible and work in good faith to find a suitable alternative date or resolution. Refunds in such circumstances will be handled fairly and discussed with the client directly.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising from a booking will be resolved through good faith negotiation in the first instance.
